Rumour: Mahindra Y400 SUV launch on October 9, 2018

<p>According to a media report, Mahindra is gearing up to launch its Ssangyong Rexton-based SUV (codenamed Y400) on October 9, 2018.</p>
<p>The Y400 was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is based on the second generation Rexton and features minor exterior modifications. Up front, it has a grille with vertical chrome slats flanked by twin-pod projector headlamps and a revised front bumper. At the rear, the SUV comes with wraparound tail lamps and a dual-tone bumper. It has dual-tone interiors with brown leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-dial instrument cluster.</p>
<p>The Y400 is expected to be offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 184 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. It is likely to be paired with a Mercedes-Benz sourced 7-speed automatic gearbox and could be available with all-wheel drive.</p>
<p>The Mahindra Y400 is expected to compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.</p>
