<span>Sept. U.S. auto sales projected to fall short of storm-fueled surge a year ago</span>
<p> Forecasters project U.S. light-vehicle sales will total about 1.4 million this month, 6 to 8 percent below a year ago when replacement demand following Hurricane Harvey sparked higher volume. The September SAAR is projected to rise to or above 17 million for the first time since June, Cox Automotive, Edmunds and J.D. Power/LMC Automotive analysts say. </p>
