2019 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko/SC Stage 2 Makes 1,000 Hors - 15 Jan 2019 04:07

The redesigned front end, especially on the SS version, has been hit or miss with Camaro fans. But if you happen to like the new look, and you have some extra cash to burn, Special Vehicle Engineering will transform your 2019 Camaro SS into a limited edition 2019 Yenko/SC that makes up to 1,000 hp.

<img class=" aligncenter="" size-full="" wp-image-1298106"="" src="https://st.automobilemag.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/ten-shared/assets/images/_.gif" data-lazy="1" data-base="https://st.automobilemag.com/uploads/sites/5/2018/10/2019-Chevrolet-Camaro-Yenko-SC-03.jpg" alt="" width="2048" height="1152">

Special Vehicle Engineering, which has rights to use the target="_blank Yenko name, has been cranking out target="_blank tuned Yenko-badged Camaros for a few years now. Apart from the 2019 model’s refreshed styling, this newest offering isn’t too different from last year’s Yenko/SC. Just as before, the 2019 Yenko/SC Camaro is offered in two states of tune. Stage 1 gets you 835 hp (up 10 hp from 2018), while Stage 2 grants 1,000 hp.

Whichever stage you choose, each Yenko/SC Camaro gets a custom-built engine that’s based on the LT1 but is stroked to 6.8 liters using a forged 4340 steel crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods, and forged aluminum pistons. The engine also uses the cylinder heads off the target="_blank LT4 V-8, which are CNC ported for increased air flow. Both versions get custom superchargers, but the Stage 2’s blower is 20-percent larger and thus provides 25 percent more boost, according to Special Vehicle Engineering.

Of course, you get more than a tuned engine when you order a Yenko Camaro. A body-colored carbon-fiber hood with power bulge and non-functional scoop comes standard and might improve the 2019 Camaro’s polarizing front end for some. Other exterior changes include a hood stripe and side stripes available in nine different colors, Yenko/SC decals, Yenko-branded brake calipers, Yenko crest badges, and badges advertising the car’s horsepower rating.

Stage 1 cars ride on five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels in a gunmetal finish, while Stage 2 cars get the same wheels in black. Michelin PS4S summer tires come standard in a staggered fitment of 295/30 front and 305/30 rear. But apart from the tires, Special Vehicle Engineering leaves the handling upgrades to GM by requiring a 2019 <a class="model-keyword-link" data-make="chevrolet" data-model="camaro" data-module-id="Mod271" href="https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/camaro/" target="_blank 1LE package] for the Stage 2 Yenko/SC conversion.

<img class=" aligncenter="" size-full="" wp-image-1298110"="" src="https://st.automobilemag.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/ten-shared/assets/images/_.gif" data-lazy="1" data-base="https://st.automobilemag.com/uploads/sites/5/2018/10/2019-Chevrolet-Camaro-Yenko-SC-04.jpg" alt="" width="2156" height="1213">

As you might’ve guessed, getting your Camaro to Yenko spec won’t be cheap. The Stage 1 package costs $46,995, while the Stage 2 will set you back $66,995. Keep in mind those prices don’t include the cost of a 2019 Camaro SS. But if you do get one, you’ll join a pretty exclusive club. Special Vehicle Engineering plans to build just 50 copies of the 2019 Yenko/SC Camaro, including 25 Stage 1s and 25 Stage 2s.

The Yenko/SC Camaro is available to order at select GM dealers in the U.S. and Canada. Sadly, it isn’t emissions-legal in California and is limited to track use there.

Porsche’s Taycan, a slinky electric sedan that used to carry the Mission E moniker, is only a starting point for the German performance brand. Several EVs are sure to follow that model’s 2019 debut, a couple of which saw light shed on them last week.

For the Taycan, it seems Porsche has plans to instill a little 911-themed heritage into its green car flag-bearer, starting with the car’s roof.<span id="more-1645350

According to Autocar, Porsche has a targa variant in mind. While the word brings to mind the most famous targa of all, there’s no chance of seeing the same sort of electromechanical dance a 911 Targa 4 driver experiences if the Taycan stays in its present sedan form.

Looking at spy photos of the Taycan, the vehicle’s twin roof bulges — which start at the trailing edge of the windshield — would pose a problem for Porsche designers and engineers, and that’s just the start of it. If the brand goes ahead with a two-door bodystyle, the wheelbase would first need shortening. While a targa variant would be an easy thing to accomplish after that point, the move would handicap battery capacity.

<img data-attachment-id=" 1628740"="" data-permalink="" data-orig-file="https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/ataycan.jpg" data-orig-size="1135,590" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta=""aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"1"" data-image-title="2020 Porsche Taycan" data-image-description="
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4xJ-4piQxI

Regardless, Autocar claims the variant is being readied for a 2020/2021 debut. A sport wagon version, previewed by this spring’s Mission E Cross Turismo concept, also seems likely, based on remarks made last week by Porsche finance director Lutz Meschke. However, Meschke had his sights on a bigger product: an electric SUV, which premium German automakers suddenly can’t be without.

“You can expect a SUV BEV [battery-electric vehicle] by 2022 at the latest,” he told a crowd of journalists in Germany. Meschke didn’t elaborate on where the vehicle would come from or where it would fit in the lineup. Porsche and Audi have a joint dedicated electric platform (PPE) due to arrive in 2021, so it’s possible the model won’t be an electric version of an existing model.

The finance boss wasn’t done throwing out morsels to his hungry audience. On the lower end of the lineup, “the Boxster and Cayman could be suitable for electrification,” he added. All Porsche models stand to receive some form of electrification by 2023, part of parent Volkswagen Group’s pledge to greenify its offerings.

As for the Taycan, the automaker revealed earlier this year that the production vehicle will boast an electric motor front and rear, all-wheel drive, and a combined 600 horsepower.

2018 Mercedes C 200 Petrol Launch In 2019 - 06 Jan 2019 03:01

<p dir="ltr Last week, <a target=" _blank"="" href="https://www.zigwheels.com/newcars/Mercedes-Benz/C-Class C-Class] facelift in India with prices starting at Rs 40.0 lakh (ex-showroom India) for the C 220d Prime variant. It is available in two 220d variants - Prime and Progressive (Rs 44.25 lakh) - and one 300d (Rs 48.50 lakh) variant, which is exclusively available with the AMG Line trim. Currently, all C-Class variants available in India feature a diesel powertrain. So does the fact that there’s no petrol version on sale yet disappoint you? Don’t be.
<p dir=" ltr="" [[image="" https:="" www.zigwheels.com="" ews-features="" ews="" 018-mercedes-c-200-petrol-launch-in-2019="" 1933="" alt="" width="720" height="540" data-original="https://media.zigcdn.com/media/content/2018/Sep/2018_mercedes-benz_c-class_facelift_launched_6_720x540.jpg" class="lazy_image img-responsive">

<p dir="ltr On the launch day, Mercedes revealed that the company will be bringing the C 200 petrol variant in India in 2019. Although the timeline hasn’t yet been confirmed, one thing is certain that the petrol variant will come with a BSIV engine. How do we know that? Well, it’s simple math. Mercedes has already introduced BSVI-ready diesel engines which can run on BSIV fuel. The petrol engine, however, has not been optimised for BSVI yet. Mercedes-Benz will bring two variants of the C-Class petrol to India, the C 200 and the C 300. The C 200 will be powered by the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with EQ Boost. It is expected to produce 184PS of power and 280Nm of torque. C300, on the other hand, will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine making 258PS of max power and 370Nm of torque.
<p dir=" ltr="" [[image="" https:="" www.zigwheels.com="" ews-features="" ews="" 018-mercedes-c-200-petrol-launch-in-2019="" 1933="" alt="" width="720" height="540" data-original="https://media.zigcdn.com/media/content/2018/Sep/2018_mercedes-benz_c-class_facelift_launched_2_720x540.jpg" class="lazy_image img-responsive">

<p dir="ltr Mercedes will likely introduce the C 200 first and it could come in below the C 220d as is the case in the Australian market.
What Makes the Porsche 911 Targa Manufaktur Edition Special?

Porsche describes the 911 Targa… as a “highly refined” model. It comes with an Achat Gray Metallic exterior paint with white gold metallic accents and silver touches.

<blockquote readability="6
Gold and silver touches replace the black accents, which are reminiscent of the GTS model.

Apart from this, the special edition comes with a brown soft top and SportDesign package as standard. The car rides on 20-inch RS Spyder satin-white wheels that are finished in white gold metallic.

On the inside, the car feels special, thanks to the light brown natural leather upholstery. The dashboard, seats, door panels, and steering wheel get contrasting white gold stitching. In all the other places, there is natural leather espresso trim, with “911” embroidered on the headrests. <a class=" _auto"="" href="https://www.topspeed.com/cars/porsche/index5.html" title="Porsche Porsche] has installed “911 Targa 4 GTS Exclusive Manufaktur Edition” badging on the dashboard and illuminated door sill plates. To top off the interior, a “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” logo is embossed on the center console.

The special edition 911 is powered by a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine that generates 443 horses and 405 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via a seven-speed PDK transmission. This enables the car to sprint from naught to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds before topping out at 190 mph.
<blockquote readability=" 8="" <p="">
The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS Exclusive Manufaktur Edition will be priced at €187,961. That is equivalent to approximately $218,000.

It will be sold solely in Germany and deliveries will begin next month. The car is indeed special, but was it a wise move to launch the car just a month before the 2020 911 is scheduled to be unveiled? Not to mention, the fact that the price-tag may instill some patience into the minds of the potential customers that would wait for the next-gen 911 to be launched. Do you think this car is special enough to justify its price? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
